Tara-Lee Byrne – Cello

Tara-Lee Byrne is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Trinity College of Music London with Naomi Butterworth and holds a Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Scholarship. Previously Tara was living in Italy where she was studying with Elizabeth Wilson. Tara holds a P.G Diploma in Performance from Utrecht Conservatorium, Holland 2003; P.G Diploma in Chamber Orchestra, Saluzzo, Italy 2004 and BA Music Performance Honours Degree, Royal Irish Academy of Music 2001.

Tara-Lee's awards and scholarships include the Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Scholarship, Trinity College of Music London; ESTA Nannie Jamieson Nutshell Bursary; Dublin City Council's Advanced Instrumentalists Bursary and CDVEC Scholarship for Exceptional Instrumentalists studying abroad. Tara has been a multiple prize-winner in all national and regional competitions in Ireland.

In 2006 Tara was awarded a place on the Mentorship Scheme with BBC Symphony Orchestra in London. She is a deputy cellist with The National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland; RTE Concert Orchestra; Irish Film Orchestra and Orchestra Classica di Alessandria, Italy. Tara has regularly performed on baroque cello with the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Italian Baroque Players. Tara-Lee has held the position of principal cellist with Trinity College of Music Symphony Orchestra, London; Orchestra da Camera Di Scuola APM, Saluzzo; Utrecht Symphony Orchestra, Holland; Opera Orchestra di Teatro Mancinelli, Orvieto; Orchestra Filarmonica di Mantova, Italy; RIAM Symphony and Chamber Orchestras and The Hibernian Orchestra, Ireland. As soloist Tara has performed with The Hibernian Orchestra, Dublin; RIAM Chamber Orchestra; Dublin Orchestral Players and Orchestra Classica di Scuola APM, Saluzzo.

She has given both solo and chamber recitals in The National Concert Hall, Dublin; The National Gallery of Ireland; ESTA String Teachers Conference Oxford; Chiesa di Santa Cecilia, Turin; Teatro Mancinelli, Orvieto, Italy; Ulster Museum, Belfast; Paris Conservatoire, France; Liszt Ferenc Acaedmie, Budapest; Vredenburg Muziekcentrum, Utrecht and Torino Lingotto, Italy.

Tara has participated in master classes with Frans Helmerson, Johannes Goritski, Maria Kleigel, Alexander Baillie, Ralph Kirschbaum, Louise Hopkins, Karine Georgian and Enrico Dindo.
Tara is currently Treasurer and Chamber Music Coach of Dublin Youth Orchestra Summer Music Courses. In 2006 she founded MAMI, Music Artists Management Ireland™, a management company providing concert platforms for young artists in Ireland.
