John Molloy - BassJohn Molloy comes from Birr in Co. Offaly and studied at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in Dublin and the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester where he received the Sarah Andrew Memorial Scholarship. In 2005 he graduated from the RNCM receiving the colleges highest accolade for performance; the PPRNCM Diploma. John has been a major scholar of the Peter Moores Foundation for the past 3 years. John has worked with many Opera Companies in Ireland and the UK including Opera North, Opera Ireland, Lyric Opera and The DOyly Carte Opera Company. He has also performed at the festivals of Ryedale, Mananan and the Farmleigh Proms. His Operatic roles include Colline La Boheme, Don Alfonso Cosi fan tutte, Bartolo Le Nozze di Figaro, Dr. Grenvil La Traviata, King of Spain Maritana, Bonze Madama Butterfly, Timur & Mandarino Turandot, King Aida, Pope Leone Atilla, Il Sagrestano Tosca, Truelove The Rakes Progress, Tiger Brown The Threepenny Opera, Arthur The Lighthouse and Cholmondeley The Yeomen of the Guard. On the Concert Platform John Molloy has appeared with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, The RTE Concert Orchestra, The Goldberg Ensemble and London Gala Orchestra. His concert repertoire includes the Requiems of Verdi, Mozart, Bruckner and Schumann; Haydns Creation and Nelson Mass, Rossinis Petite Messe Solennelle, Vaughan Williams The First Nowell, Handels Messiah and Elgars Dream of Gerontius. Engagements for 2007 include Recitals in Beijing and Shanghai, Beethovens Missa Solemnis in Macau and Lily of Killarney for the Royal Dublin Society. John Molloy © 2007 |
